For the samurai, who lived constantly in the shadow of death, the presence of women was an essential source of mental support. It is a well-known story that Hirobumi Ito, the first Prime Minister of Japan and one of the last samurai, squandered his wealth on women. Despite their stoic exterior, it is possible that the samurai of that time revered women as goddesses in their hearts, seeking solace and support. This notion resonates even today, with men drawing strength from their loved ones in their daily battles.
